Manages all aspects of Institutional Effectiveness
Serves as Institutional Accreditation Liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and ensures compliance with SACSCOC and US DOE policies and regulations
Coordinates Academic Program Review (APR) for the Provost Office
Leads annual and long-range planning efforts for departments’ evaluation and assessment processes
Coordinates academic accessibility initiatives and compliance; collaborates with general counsel to address legal issues related to academic accessibility
Supports efforts to secure and maintain programmatic accreditations
Participates in meta-assessment and supports student learning outcomes assessment at the program level
Leads campus efforts to maintain the institution’s Academic Program Inventory

Primary liaison to the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) for the Quality Assurance Funding (QAF) program
Coordinates the online administration of the California Critical Thinking Skills Test (CCTST)
Serves as the chair of the Academic Assessment Council
Assists with the planning, assessment, review, and reporting of programmatic student learning outcomes as part of the university’s Assessment Steering Committee
Provides support for the planning and documentation of Volunteer Core student learning outcomes assessment in conjunction with the Volunteer Core Assessment Committee
Assists with faculty credentialing in collaboration with Faculty Affairs

Provides consultation support and training opportunities for program-level outcomes assessment
Leads the university’s annual meta-assessment process
Serves on the university’s Assessment Steering Committee
Coordinates the Major Field requirement of the THEC Quality Assurance Funding process
Assists in the implementation and training of end-users for the university’s compliance planning and reporting system (HelioCampus)
Administrator for the UTASSESS listserv

Administers all aspects of TNVoice (Tennessee Volunteer Online Instructor & Course Evaluation) including technical support, reporting issues, and staying current on best practices in student evaluation of instruction
Provides support for the administration of the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) and related surveys (BCSSE and FSSE). Also provides analysis of the surveys for the university community as well as for the THEC Quality Assurance Funding process
Oversees the annual evaluation for Deans and Department Heads
Serves on the university’s Assessment Steering Committee

Manages all aspects of the university’s compliance planning and reporting system (HelioCampus) and the required interface with other technology systems (Canvas, Banner, etc), including training design and implementation.
Administrator for the IE website, including document management within TRACE
Administrator for the UTASSESS listserv
Maintains programmatic accreditation files and provides data and reports for communication to external accrediting agencies
Serves on the university’s Assessment Steering Committee

Manages the intake process for all proposed changes to the institution’s academic program inventory
Establishes, maintains, and monitors the 5-year calendar of academic program reviews and mid-cycle reviews to ensure the 5-year calendar meets THEC requirements
Assists the Undergraduate Council’s Volunteer Core (General Education) committee and its subcommittees in both the course approval process and the assessment of Volunteer Core courses
