• Maintaining UT Knoxville’s compliance with accreditation standards imposed by The Commission on Colleges and Universities (The Commission) and with standards imposed by U.S. Department of Education (USDOE) and similar agencies
• Supporting efforts to secure and maintain programmatic and specialty accreditation held by individual academic programs
• Ensuring continuous improvement in the institution’s academic programs by supporting regular assessment of:
  • student learning outcomes
  • academic program review, every five years
  • end-of-course evaluations, each term
  • dean and department head surveys
