• Maintaining UT Knoxville’s compliance with accreditation standards imposed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and with standards imposed by U.S. Department of Education (USDOE) and similar agencies
• Supporting efforts to secure and maintain programmatic and specialty accreditation held by individual academic programs
• Ensuring continuous improvement in the institution’s academic programs by supporting regular assessment of:
  • student learning outcomes
  • academic program review, every five years
  • end-of-course evaluations, each term
  • dean and department head surveys
